Annual Appeal 2020-2021

EmpowhermentWEBAs a community, we believe that each of our students possesses the power within themselves to reach their full potential, define their own path and leave BHS prepared and impassioned to lead in tomorrow’s world. We are dedicated to the education of girls, and promise to offer academic excellence enriched by innovation and collaboration. We take pride in our supportive community, which fosters confidence and empowers our students to become authentic versions of themselves and lead meaningful lives.

Your dedication, generosity and support of our school over the years have made a real difference in how we educate our students.

The recent opening of our Innovation Centre, Arts Wing & Theatre is a testament to the power of community to make an impactful change in the lives of all students at BHS. We have led the way in education because of your commitment. While this year has been a particularly challenging one, we hope we can count on your continued support of our 2020 Annual Appeal in support of three areas of fundraising focus:
Scholarships and Bursaries
Right now, there continues to be a great need and uncertainty faced by many of our BHS families. In May, the BHS community came together to raise money for an Emergency Bursary Fund, and while we all continue to struggle to understand the long-term impact of COVID-19, we must maintain stability for our girls. BHS has a major Scholarship and Bursary programme and our goal is to continue to build this fund to allow us to support our families in need.
Primary Playground and Courtyard Refurbishment
Our goal this year is to improve our physical playground and gathering areas so the Primary girls can continue to enjoy their outdoor spaces, use their imagination, and be creative with their play in a safe and fun environment, protected from the sun.
Painting the Building
Our students, parents, donors, alumni and even people in the community often ask 'When are you going to paint the building?' The completion of the Innovation Centre has highlighted the need to restore our main buildings to their former glory.  We have been amazed at the impact fresh paint has had on the few areas we have been able to complete. With your support, we hope to be able to paint the entire building this year.
