Extra Curricular Activities

A variety of activities involving the students take place during the school day and after school.

Assemblies

Assemblies are an important part of our programme.

General assemblies are used to recognise achievements, showcase the talents or skills of individuals or groups, teach values and encourage thoughtful and caring consideration of the world in which we live. Stories about different cultures, traditions and religions are shared and guest speakers are invited to speak about community issues and events.

Class assemblies are held regularly to provide opportunities for the sharing of individual and class presentations of project work, plays, stories and poetry. Parents are invited to join us at class assemblies and then stay on to enjoy lunch with their daughter(s).

Extra Curricular Activities

During the school year optional after-school activities are offered for Years 5 and 6 students. In the area of sports, after school activities have typically included the sport of the season; Netball, Hockey or Softball. Volleyball, Basketball, Climbing Club and Gymnastics are also offered at various times during the year. Musical Theatre Club, Spanish Cooking and Crafts Club and Computer Club are also offered by Specialist Teachers. Students in Years 4 through 6 can participate in a variety of music activities including Choir, String Group, Orchestra, Musical Instruments and the Bell Choir.

Other activities are offered as opportunity presents. The Running Club, initiated by a parent volunteer and orchestrated with a number of parent helpers, has been a part of the extra curricular activities for many years. A Lacrosse Club is a new activity that has been introduced by a parent volunteer. Recently, a fencing club and archery club has been made available to students for a fee. We always welcome new activities and any parent who would like to run a club is encouraged to contact us with their proposal.

Saturday Soccer is a popular activity run by parent volunteers. A competitive league has been established and the Under 9 and Under 11 teams practice their ball handling skills enthusiastically. The Primary School team has been victorious in the Inter School Football competition.

After School and Holiday Care

Holiday care is available during mid-term breaks, Christmas and Spring vacations and the month of July. The programme runs from 8:30am till 5:30pm daily.

Both programmes take place on the school premises. More information can be found HERE.
