The Bermuda High School for Girls (BHS) is Bermuda’s leading school dedicated to the education of girls aged 4 to 18, with a co-educational pathway in Years 12 and 13. We are currently seeking the following:
Head of School
The Head of School is accountable to the Board of Trustees and has overall responsibility for the leadership of the school, both academic and administrative.
Passionate about girls’ education, the Head will bring at least ten years’ experience in senior roles within a high-performing independent or international school. An experienced teacher, they will hold an appropriate qualification such as a Bachelor of Education or PGCE, with a master’s degree or other advanced training preferred. They will be familiar with more than one internationally recognised curriculum, ideally including either the British curriculum or the International Baccalaureate. The Head will demonstrate a strong track record of mentoring and developing staff, supporting students and fostering a dynamic and healthy school community. The successful candidate will be a strategic, forward-thinking leader with experience in managing change in a diverse environment, alongside exposure to strategic planning and fundraising.
Above all, the Head of School will be a person of exceptional integrity and character, with outstanding interpersonal and communication skills. They will thrive in a collegial and caring culture, working collaboratively and building meaningful relationships across the school community. The Head of School will share the values that define BHS and will earn the trust and respect of all members of the community through an open, transparent, warm and engaging style.
The successful candidate will be expected to provide a recent criminal check and complete SCARS training.

Executive Assistant To The Head of School, Deputy Head & Board of Trustees
BHS is seeking a highly organised, proactive, and discreet Executive Assistant to provide comprehensive support to the Head/Deputy Head of School and the Board of Trustees. This role is central to ensuring the smooth operation of leadership functions, governance processes, and communication across the school community.
Key Responsibilities
- Executive Support — Manage the Head/Deputy Head of School’s calendar, schedule meetings, coordinate travel, and prepare materials for internal and external engagements.
- Board Administration — Coordinate Board and committee meetings, prepare agendas, take minutes, and maintain governance records and policies.
- Communication Management — Draft correspondence, reports, and presentations; serve as a primary point of contact for trustees, parents, staff, and external stakeholders.
- Event Coordination — Support planning and execution of Board events, leadership retreats, and school functions.
- Confidential Information Handling — Maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment in all matters.
- Operational Support — Assist with project tracking, document management, and cross‑departmental coordination.
- Serve as a support to other offices and special projects as needed.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Associate’s Degree accepted, Bachelor’s degree preferred; equivalent experience considered.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in an executive support or senior administrative role.
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
- High proficiency with Microsoft 365, Google Suite, databases, and digital collaboration tools.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and interpersonal effectiveness.
- Experience supporting a Board or working within a governance‑based environment is an asset.
