About BHS

BHS is an independent, International Baccalaureate and Round Square School for students from EYP through to Y13.  BHS is all-girls’ from the Early Years Programme until Y11, and co-educational in Y12 & 13. The School offers the English National Curriculum through Key Stage 1-3, the

GCSE/IGCSE examinations at Key Stage 4, and the IB Diploma Programme in the final two years of school. Students may also sit the SATI and II examinations in IB1/IB2.

Our educational programme aims to foster well-rounded students with a strong focus on athletics, the arts, community service and leadership development. As a Round Square school, students are given the opportunity to participate in student exchanges, annual international conferences and service projects around the world.

We are committed to providing the best learning experience for each of our students to help them become confident, resilient and responsible global citizens.

At BHS girls take centre stage. For more than 120 years, the school has focused on educating girls in a tradition of excellence. Today, in that tradition we continue to challenge our students to become skilled, confident, compassionate young women. Strong female role models, reduced societal stereotyping in the classroom and learning opportunities that encourage students to pursue their interests all help to create an inspirational learning environment where girls develop the skills and confidence to excel and lead.

The BHS experience offers inspiration by promoting intellectual curiosity, and both creative and critical thinking, while encouraging communication and collaboration. We aim to make each student successful in their own right. We acknowledge that students excel at many different levels, in a wide variety of areas and our program enables students to reach their full individual potential, within the highest international standards. We develop leaders by cultivating reflective, resourceful students, ready to take calculated risks as well as responsibility - for their own lives and for enriching the lives of others. In short, we focus on developing a successful and balanced learner - all in a safe, nurturing and supportive atmosphere.
