Statement of Inclusion
BHS is a school in which our programmes and interpersonal relationships affirm and are respectful of the dignity and worth of each member of our community. We are committed to creating a community that is racially, ethnically, religiously and economically diverse. BHS admits families of any race, colour, religion, sexual orientation, national or ethnic origin. It does not unfairly discriminate in the administration of its educational policies, admissions policies, financial aid, athletic or any other school-administered programmes.
BHS is an independent, International Baccalaureate and Round Square School for students from the Early Years Programme (EYP) through Year13. BHS is all-girls’ from EYP until Year 11, and welcomes boys in Year 12 & 13 for the IB Programme. The School offers the English National Curriculum through Key Stage 1-3, the GCSE/IGCSE examinations at Key Stage 4, and the IB Diploma Programme and IB Courses in the final two years of school. Students may also sit the SATI and II examinations in IB1/IB2.
The educational programme at BHS aims to foster well-rounded students with a strong focus on leadership, the arts, athletics and community service. As a Round Square school, students are given the opportunity to participate in student exchanges, annual international conferences and service projects around the world.
At BHS, students are challenged to take risks and the inspirational learning environment encourages discovery and creativity. Teaching in the ways that girls learn best, BHS makes space for each and every girl to walk to the front, define their path, overcome obstacles, and celebrate achievements. BHS girls are confident in their abilities to excel and lead and graduates stand tall among their peers, prepared and impassioned to lead in tomorrow’s world.
