The Bermuda High School for Girls Association was established in 1926 and the constitution or bye-laws of the Association have been amended from time to time, according to due process. At the Annual General Meeting of the Association a Board of Trustees is elected. Generally, a trustee is elected to serve for a three year term which is renewable twice, to allow a trustee to serve a maximum term of nine years, consecutively. After "standing down" for at least a year a trustee may be elected again to the "Board". Officers of the Board may serve beyond the nine year term limit while elected to the position of Chair or Deputy Chair only.
